In recent years museums across Britain have decolonised exhibitions, rewritten object descriptions and even removed and returned controversial items. 2020 was an historic turning point for British museums, many of which decided it was time to completely overhaul their exhibitions after the Black Lives Matter riots spurred a new movement which attacked British history as being steeped in the sins of slavery and racism. However, not all curators have caved into the demands of woke activists. The Telegraph's Steven Edginton visited the National Army Museum in Chelsea and met with their Director, Justin Maciejewski, who vowed not to decolonise his museum.
