Former U.S. first lady Eleanor Rosalynn Carter has died at the age of 96 after it was announced that she entered home hospice care Friday. Carter died peacefully Sunday afternoon in Plains, Georgia, surrounded by her family, according to an announcement released by the Carter Center in Atlanta.  “Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished,” President Carter said. “She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me.” ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Join our newsletter at https://bit.ly/2q1tepr Follow us on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/scrippsnews/ Follow us on Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/scrippsnews Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/scrippsnews/ Follow us on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@scrippsnews
