Prime Minister Anthony Albanese says he remains confident the majority of Australians in a majority of states will vote ‘Yes’ in the upcoming Voice to Parliament referendum. An exclusive Newspoll for The Australian recently showed support for the proposal had plummeted, with only 41 per cent of those surveyed indicating they will vote ‘Yes’. “Most Australians of course will focus when the referendum is actually being held, it’s a while to go yet,” he told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell. “The ‘Yes’ campaign needs to be stronger in putting the case because we know that referendums in Australia have been difficult to pass. “But this is a clear and simple proposition for recognition and then listening.”
