Music and Lyrics: Jewlia Eisenberg Illustrations and Film: Jacqueline Nicholls Produced by: Sarah Lefton Visit http://www.bimbam.com/kabbalah_eyes ‎to read artists' statements and more. An artists' interpretation of a mystical story from Kabbalah that people sometimes call the Parable of the Maiden. It's formally known as Sava de-Mishpatim, and it's from the Zohar, Jewish mysticism's most important text. Jewlia Eisenberg wrote the song you hear and Jacqueline Nicholls drew and filmed the visuals for The Wise Have Eyes, which was created in chevruta (partnership) with G-dcast's executive producer Sarah Lefton. We were deeply challenged by this difficult text, taking it up with enthusiasm, wrestling with it, putting it aside and re-engaging together over several months. We did not agree about everything in the story, in the song, or in the art, and we are so proud of the deep facets of meaning you'll uncover inside. Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a reality, including Amichai Lau-Lavie, Aindri Chakraborty, Yosh! Haraguchi of Faultline Studios and the staff at G‑dcast: Barbara Barza, Lisa Finkelstein, Russel Neiss, Jeremy Shuback and Oren Stevens. We also thank the great scholars of Zohar and Kabbalah who informed this work directly or indirectly, including Melila Hellner-Eshed, Daniel Chanan Matt, Matthew Weineger, Andrew Harvey, Daniel Abrams, Moshe Idel, Elliot Wolfson, and Rebbe Nachman of Bratslav.
