Paris hotel prices soar for Olympics

Hotels in the French capital of Paris are cashing in on the upcoming Olympic Games. A survey of three and four-star hotels across the city has found the average price of hotel rooms for the night of the Opening Ceremony is triple that of the week prior. Tourists hoping to stay in Paris on July 26 this year can expect to pay more than 1600 Australian dollars for the night. 50 per cent of surveyed hotels say they are already booked out. Paris tourism officials are expecting more than 16 million people to visit during the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
