Tech Guide Editor Stephen Fenech says with reliable websites and quality journalism now banned on Facebook, users are going to see a lot of "misinformation, a lot of crackpots and a lot of conspiracy theories". His comments come after the social media platform imposed a ban on Australian news content amid growing contentions regarding the federal government’s media bargaining code which aims to force tech giants to pay media outlets for using their news content. Mr Fenech said Facebook is "very influential in the news that's shared" along with "how we find that information". "The problem that we're going to see is that, what's going to fill that vacuum?" Mr Fenech told Sky News host Peta Credlin. He said "reliable websites" which utilise "expert journalists and good quality journalism" are now suddenly banned. "What's going to fill that space - you're going to see a lot of misinformation, a lot of crackpots, a lot of conspiracy theories". "So there's a real worry for Facebook users, they're going to be flooded with this ... misinformation".
