A man was pulled from the rubble of a damaged building in Kharkiv on Friday, December 29, after Russia launched a wave of missile strikes on Ukraine’s major cities. Footage from Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES) shows an emergency crew removing a large chunk of rubble from on top of the man. He is then taken away on a stretcher to an awaiting ambulance. Suspilne News reported, citing a hospital director, that the man was in a moderate condition. The head of the Kharkiv administration, Oleg Synegubov, said three people were killed and 13 injured locally. In total, 18 people were killed and 132 wounded across the country following attacks on cities including Dnipro, Odesa, and Lviv. The commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, said Russia used 158 means of air attack on Ukraine. Zaluzhny said 87 cruise missiles and 27 drones were shot down. The attacks come days after Ukraine said it had destroyed a Russian warship at a Crimean port.
