More renewable energy to reduce power prices in long term: Tanya Plibersek

The best way to reduce soaring power prices in the “longer term” is to see more renewable energy in the system, says Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek. “We’ve doubled the rate of approvals of renewable energy projects since I’ve become Minister,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia. “We’re certainly working to get those thousands of kilometres of transmission lines laid as well – we know that there is interest in investing in renewable energy projects from businesses.”
