Crossbench deal will ‘also hurt small businesses’: Denit Wawn

Master Builders Australia Chief Executive Denita Wawn who previously expressed concerns about Labor’s ‘same job, same pay’ legislation, has warned the move will ‘also impact small businesses.’ “We’ve been saying now for an exceptionally long time, it will also hurt small businesses,” Ms Wawn told Sky News Australia. “This is not just about big business against big unions. “This is about the impact on everyday small businesses in the building and construction industry.” Labor's same-job, same-pay laws passed through parliament Thursday after a deal with the crossbench. The move has angered big businesses who are now set to wage a mining-tax style campaign against the Albanese government in a bid to pile on pressure before the next election.
