Sibelius: "The Swan of Tuonela" Segerstam/Helsinki P.O. 1996

I repaired this great Swan by Leif. Cello – Veikko Höylä Cor Anglais – Sanna Niemikunnas The piece is either No. 2 or No. 3 of the Lemminkäinen series with 4 movements Op. 22. Sibelius had delayed the official publication of the whole Lemminkäinen Series until 1954, he only did so after Eugene Ormandy had spoken him out of discrediting his own work in ca 1950. The 2nd and 3rd parts are today played in either order when the whole series is performed.
