Lisa Pauli has wrestled with the eating disorder anorexia for decades. She is among Canadians whose sole underlying condition is mental illness, hoping to use an expansion of the criteria for medically assisted death to get help to end their life. Lined up against them are some medical experts, and activists who say people with intellectual and physical disabilities, low incomes or other vulnerabilities may be put at risk.
