Victorian residents pay for private security patrols as youth crime rises

Victorian residents are now paying for private security patrols over fears criminals will break into their homes as the number of Victorian police isn’t enough to combat the rising issue. Home invasions are up by 30 per cent since March 2022, with a recorded 5,098 aggravated burglaries, according to Sky News host Peta Credlin. A record 19,539 alleged incidents involving 10-17-year-olds have been reported, a 10-year high. Ms Credlin is joined by Menzies Research Centre’s executive Director Nick Cater to discuss the rising youth crime in Victoria.
