Australians should not be “surprised” by the next big cyber breach following Latitude Financial’s major breach, according to CyberCX Chief Strategy Officer Alistair MacGibbon. “What negligence is, what standards should be and how people should protect their information should be the real lesson for us as a community, is don’t be surprised by the next big breach, don’t be surprised by the one after that,” he told Sky News host Sharri Markson. “So every time we’ve got to hand over an identity document to prove who we are, we’re creating an opportunity for the next hacker.”
